Emergent has picked up another investor just months after it raised a Series A round led by Lightspeed. Google’s AI Futures Fund has made an undisclosed strategic investment in the startup, which enables users to build apps without writing code.
Earlier in September, Emergent, which operates out of San Francisco and Bangalore, raised a $23 million Series A from Lightspeed and returning investors Prosus Ventures, Together Fund, and Y Combinator. The startup claims a user base of more than 2.5 million and a $25 million-plus ARR since that launch of its platform five months ago.
A couple of weeks ago, Google’s AI Futures Fund also teamed up with Accel Atoms to support pre-seed AI startups with early access to DeepMind’s advanced models, mentoring and Google Cloud credits. Selected startups will also have an opportunity to raise equity capital from Accel and Google.
Early AI startups in India have been on investor radars lately. Last week, Haptik founder Aakrit Vaish and former Together Fund principal Pratyush Choudhury launched Activate, a $75 million venture capital fund, to back “Day Zero” AI founders. Earlier this year, Antler India launched a AI Residency, offering an initial cheque of $500,000 for concept stage AI-first startups.
